Iran produced 24.37 million tons of cement in the first five months of the current fiscal year (March 21, solstice, August 22), up 0.6% year on year, the Iranian media reported on November 9.Production of raw cement and clinker rose 7.5 per cent year on year in the period, with exports up 10 per cent, according to xie han, secretary-general of the cement industry association.Raw materials were exported mainly to Afghanistan (26%), uzbekistan (15%), Pakistan (6%), kazakhstan (5%) and Russia (5%).The major exports of clinker are Iraq, Sri Lanka, Kuwait, India, united Arab emirates, Kenya, China and Oman.Iran plans to increase cement production to 100 million tons a year by 2021, it said.
